If someone buys a product, because you recommend it, you get a cut of the money the business makes. This is called affiliate marketing, and I know more millionaires because of it than any other business opportunity online.
You don’t have to be clever to make lots of money with affiliate marketing, but it certainly helps. Making a few hundred dollars per day shouldn’t pose a problem. There’s some affiliate marketers that have started their business in their bedroom, and went onto float their business on Wall Street.

- 1. How does the affiliate business work?
If someone visits a company’s website and buys their product, you get a cut of the profit made if you sent the visitor there. You usually get a percentage of the total sale amount. This is usually between 40%-10%. The costs for businesses selling online is much less than selling offline, so there is loads of money left over to pay out in commission.
- 2. How much money can I except to make?
This is a multi-billion dollar industry, and there is no set-in-stone amount that you will make. It all depends on the value of product, and the volume of orders, that you manage to stimulate. Making a few hundred dollars a day is very realistic in the first few months, but that isn’t considered very good for affiliates who have been doing it longer.
- 3. What kind of work do you have to do?
You usually just fill in forms, and type what you see into a box. The more you do it, the easier you find it. When the hourly rate is so good, sometimes above $80 an hour, it can be hard to motivate yourself to work loads of hours if you work on your own. My advice is to work out how much money you need to earn, and then dedicate the right amount of hours in a day so you can earn it.

Most of my affiliate payments come in at the start of the month. I usually always know exactly what I’m going to get paid because the company usually lets you log-in to a part of their website and track how much commission you’ve made.
- 5. Have you ever not been paid by the company?
Yes, this has happened to me before. One time the company went out of business. That’s why I don’t usually refer more than a few hundred dollars worth of sales to companies in the first month, just so I can check if they are legitimate. It’s very rare, though, and accounts for a tiny fraction of the total sales I’ve made.
- 6. Do you have any real good tips to excel?
I recommend you focus on learning as much about marketing as possible. You don’t need to be an expert to get started, but the better you become the more money you will make. With affiliate marketing, you will learn so much along the way. That’s why this is an opportunity you have to grasp with both hands, and get started with as soon with as soon as possible.
